Best Diet to Lose Weight – Discover The Best Foods To Lose Weight

Discover The Best Diet To Lose Weight Fast – It’s My Little Secret

Best Foods to Lose Weight

People who struggle with weight loss often want to know, “what’s the best diet to lose weight?”

My answer: No Diet. Unless you are thinking of the word “diet” the right way. A diet should not be something you do to get fast results – to undo damage from years of bad eating habits. It shouldn’t be something you plan on doing just “until” the weight goes off.

A diet – by the right definition simply should mean: what you eat. Your lifestyle.

If you are here wanting to know which diet you should go on to lose some weight, then that means your current “diet”, or eating habits, are perhaps not what they should be.

No worries. We can fix that and have you on the way to a healthier, happier you in no time at all. How can I sound so confident? Because I have the answers to your questions and if you truly want to lose that weight and keep it off you’ll keep on reading 😉

Be warned: What I’m about to reveal is not a fad. It is not a program. It is not something you have to buy. It doesn’t even really have a name…I don’t think. Maybe I should name it 🙂 Although, I didn’t invent it or anything. My current lifestyle/diet is something I spent a few years learning and figuring out. And the result, a healthier, leaner, more fit me than I ever thought possible.

So let’s get to it.

How I Discovered The Best Way To Lose Weight Fast

For me, the best diet to lose weight was found by accident. I wasn’t even trying to lose weight. I didn’t even really have any weight to lose, not really…or so I thought. I had just had my second child, my first had left me more overweight than I’d ever been (not for lack of exercise or trying, the hormones got me! Those darn hormones!) Anyway, it took me a couple of years to lose the weight with my first child. With my second I didn’t gain much weight at all and was practically back to my usual weight before I even got home from the hospital. It was weird. But I wasn’t going to complain.

Enter The New Diet

I decided to change my eating habits one day when I was watching something on T.V. and was introduced to Dr. Mark Hyman. If you don’t know who that is, I highly suggest checking out his book.

In his book he suggested eliminating wheat and dairy from your diet for 6 weeks, just to SEE if you had a problem with either of those foods. I had been eating those two foods my whole life and didn’t think I had an issue, but for 6 weeks I was game to just SEE.

What I discovered astounded me! Not only did I HAVE a problem with those two food groups, I actually had a SERIOUS problem with them.

I found out that dairy made me angry. Yeah, I know. Weird right? Anyway, I’m not talking a little angry, but REALLY angry. I used to have mood swings and get upset. But I never realized how upset I was until I was no longer upset.

Wheat, I discovered made my face break out and made my tummy hurt. It made my husband’s nose plug up…he never knew this until he went off of it and suddenly could BREATHE, go figure.

So yeah, we didn’t have any allergies in the sense that it was going to kill us, but I can tell you that we felt a heck of a lot better NOT eating those two food groups.

You probably think it was hard to eliminate them from our diet. And yes, at first it was because they were a HUGE part of our diet. But in no time at all, and with the help of his book, I discovered a new way of eating and knew what to look for in labels and foods and MOST importantly, what to avoid!

So I am now on a gluten free diet. I never in a million years planned to be or thought I needed to be. But because I feel better, it’s a CHOICE. Because I like to feel good. Don’t you?

GUESS WHAT HAPPENED DURING THOSE SIX WEEKS?

I had already been a low weight, an ideal weight. Fit, healthy, even after having my second child. But during those 6 weeks, I lost 10 MORE POUNDS! Quickly.

The Most Important Factor of A Good Diet

The most important factor of a good diet, your new lifestyle, isn’t the label you give it. It isn’t to say, I’m vegan, or vegetarian, or “gluten free”. No, the most important factor of a good diet is to eat REAL, FRESH FOODS.

Processed foods are simply not good for you. You can get away with eating certain things that are not homemade, especially after you start eliminating a lot of the junk that most people eat on a daily basis, but the key to losing weight and keeping it off is to simply eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean meats and remove one of the worst things from your diet you can possibly eat.

Can you guess what that is?

SUGAR.

If you don’t believe me, although I highly doubt you are disagreeing. Take a look at the chart. Numbers don’t lie and the statistics say that the average American in 1822 consumed about 45g of sugar, the amount found in 1 12-ounce can of soda, every 5 days vs. an average of 765g consumed now, every 5 days. That’s roughly 17 cans!!US Sugar Consumption 1822-2010

Don’t start to panic though. You can still have sweet things. I do. You just learn to limit the BAD sugar and find sweetness in other ways. It can be done, and it isn’t as hard as people think.

Personally, I would find it harder to wake up every morning feeling sluggish and icky and looking in the mirror and hating how I look and feel FAR more than I would find it hard to eliminate a food that is basically toxic to our body (in the amounts we now consume it).

Just Give Me The Gist!

Okay, now that I’ve told you a little bit about myself and what “diet” I am on. And I’ve given you some powerful information about what you may or may not be consuming now that is hurting you. Here’s the bottom line of what the best diet is if you want to lose weight (and KEEP IT OFF…FOREVER!)

1) Eat fresh, whole foods
2) Eliminate Sugar
3) Elminiate wheat and dairy

Wheat is not a bad thing necessarily. The problem with wheat is that in the U.S. it is not a wheat our body can process. It has been modified too much and it is no longer something our body recognizes and can break down. This isn’t the case over in Europe.

Dairy is just riddled with hormones. Hence, my anger I would imagine. And it is so easy to change your eating habits and no longer consume dairy. There are really great alternatives. My favorite is Almond Milk and Almond Yogurt. And I used to hate goat cheese, but now – if you find a good one, Goat Cheese is sooooo good. I no longer miss the other kind of cheese, and trust me cheese was a HUGE part of my diet before.

So, I can and I can’t say…I can eat whatever I want. I can actually say that, because I no longer WANT to eat the foods I shouldn’t. To someone else, me avoiding the cake at a birthday party might seem like I’m depriving myself. But I’m not. I’m choosing to feel good. I have actually found really great gluten free and low sugar or no sugar alternatives to pastries and cookies and breads. I plan adding to this website all of the great recipes I discover or create myself 🙂 So yeah, I might not eat their cake. But I DO eat cake!!

For more information about the “diet” that changed my life and has left me skinnier, healthier and happier than I’ve ever been before, read The UltraMind Solution by Dr. Mark Hyman. Dr. Hyman has great advice and recipes using the best foods to lose weight.

Don’t let the name fool you. The book is full of great information to cure a multitude of issues as you’ll see if you pick it up. And the basis for all of these so-called “cures” – your diet!
