How to Win Friends and Influence People Review

Have you ever had to deal with a difficult person? Or gotten in an argument over something likely to be petty, but at the time seemed extremely important?

Do you have difficulty making or keeping friends? Are you confused about how to handle a delicate subject with either a family member, employee, or client?

My guess is that you answered yes to probably all of those questions and I probably could have gone on all day with more questions that you would have answered yes to.

So my next question is: Have you heard of How to Win Friends & Influence People?

And if the answer was yes to that, have you read it?

I personally think I’d heard of it…but given my own difficulties dealing with people I cannot BELIEVE I hadn’t read the book until now.

After reading this book by Dale Carnegie that was published in 1936…yes, 1936!, I’ve no idea why this book has not been added to a required reading list of all schools from the age of…probably 8.

Why?

Because…it’s SO necessary!

Why How to Win Friends and Influence People Should Be On Everyone’s To Read List:

I will say that there probably are people who naturally know how to deal with other people (difficult or otherwise), in fact, I know there are. But probably the majority of the population has difficulty relating, empathizing, controlling their temper, etc.

Personally, controlling my temper and not taking things personally was a big one. A huge one, if I’m being honest. So huge, in fact, that it kept me isolated from others. Not because I wanted to be, but because I didn’t know how NOT to be.

I’m great with people. I have friends. Strangers will usually tell me their life story within seconds of meeting me. And yet, half the time I spent my time alone. Why?

I had no idea. Until I read this book.

The concepts that you can learn inside this book may seem so basic and you’ll probably say, well…duh, a few times. But even so, just because the concepts and ideas are basic and make sense and perhaps you already do some…most of us, even if we know this stuff, revert right back to our natural human tendencies.

And what’s wrong with that?

Arguments, misunderstandings, hurt feelings, jealousy, anger, confusion, depression, feeling alone, family feuds, divorce, break-ups, lost business deals, lost potential for getting a job, or losing a job because you didn’t know how to handle something, lost revenue, lost clients, WAR…shall I continue?

Who Should Read How to Win Friends and Influence People?

I think everyone should read this book!

This book has probably just taken the #1 spot on my list of books I’d recommend. I think it is perfect for children to learn this at a young age, especially those who struggle with shyness and not quite knowing how to relate with others who are more outgoing. However, I know many adults who could benefit from this book as well.

If you want to learn how to be diplomatic, keep your cool, know how to influence someone in a positive way that ultimately leads to a fair outcome for both of you, read this book.

Dale Carnegie spent years pouring over data and biographies and examples to figure out some of the hardest questions that we humans try to answer. Even though we are all the same, ultimately, we are also very different and these differences mean we can often times clash and disagree.

The irony? All we all really want is to feel important. If you can learn this one lesson and learn how to put others first and see things from their point of you, make them feel important, you will thrive!

If you are a business owner, this is a must read, because business owners will always be dealing with customers of some kind, and this means you will be running across some difficult people, people who don’t want to pay you for some reason or another. This book can help you finally learn how to handle situations like that and this will make you more money in the end and lead to a very successful business.

Read this book if you want to feel less stressed, calmer and confident in any social situation. Learn what to say, how to say it, and when NOT to say it.

Do you have a short temper? Are you easily provoked?

This is probably THE best place to start in order to get that under control. Not only will you learn how to handle situations that usually would make your blood boil, but the techniques and principles in this book will help your blood not to boil. People simply won’t be able to get to you anymore, because you’ll know exactly how to handle whatever comes your way.

I can’t recommend this book more. Why are you still here reading my review? Go grab the free sample of this on your Kindle and see for yourself!

After you’ve read the book, I’d love to hear your opinion, please come back and leave a comment below, won’t you?

Thanks!
