Teach Yourself a Language – How to Boost Your Brain Power

Teach Yourself a Language

Work Those Brain Muscles!

We all know that learning another language makes us more worldly, but did you know that it can also help boost your brain power? That it can actually work your little brain muscles and help improve your memory and overall brain health?

Why You Should Teach Yourself a Language

A lot of people know that cognitive games like Sudoku, cross word puzzles and other mind improvement games are fun and good for keeping your brain young, healthy and functioning at its optimum level. But did you know that learning another language will not only do the same thing, but also you will LEARN ANOTHER LANGUAGE?

The online mind games are fun, sure, and you should definitely do them. But what do you get at the end of the day when you finish them? Yes…your brain got its exercise, but wouldn’t it be that much cooler if after you were done working your brain muscles that you learned a new skill? That you learned another language?

Personally, I love languages. They are just so cool to me, so maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree with you. Maybe you don’t like languages as much as I do. But even so, you could learn the easiest foreign language to learn, which I hear is Spanish, and work your brain at the same time.

And with the online language software available now it is so easy to learn another language fast and on your own. Being able to speak a foreign language is not only fun, but it opens a lot of doors too, no matter what your age. And also no matter what your age, it is good for your brain!

So no matter how old you are, don’t be whining that you are too old to learn something like that. That learning languages is for children and teenagers (because we all know they pick it up faster), this does not mean that you can’t do it. In fact, when I was in college there were so many older people in my classes I was actually blown away.

We all whine when we are younger about having to do our studies and go to school. The funny thing is, learning is something that older people gravitate towards when it is no longer “mandatory” but rather a choice.

Learning in that regard is actually preferred and fun – and this is a great thing because learning something new will keep your brain functioning at the level it’s supposed to. With all of the entertainment choices out there our brains are getting lazy. We simply don’t want to take the time to work it.

Work, school, obligations seem to take enough of our time and energy that we just want to veg out, as the saying goes. But guess what, even work and school and definitely our obligations aren’t always going to be enough to keep our minds sharp.

Learning a language will do just that for you. So if you want to know why exercise is good for your brain, how to wake up your brain from the everyday boredom, how to increase concentration and even memory – teach yourself a language. Heck, you could even learn Malayalam if you wanted to. I hear it’s quite popular.

What’s The Best Foreign Language to Learn

Honestly, that depends on you. If you want to learn it for any specific reason, then I think you’ll know which language you want to learn. But for working your brain it really doesn’t matter. If you want to learn the easiest language then check out this top language software for learning Spanish – Rocket Spanish.

If you want to shop around for a language that interests you the most, I highly recommend Transparent Language. This language software has been around a LONG, LONG time and I have several of their programs and have always enjoyed them. They are fun, interactive and well-rounded; you’ll get the complete experience with them and be able to learn from the comfort of your own home.

Increasing your brain power by learning a language can easily be thought of as a game for your brain; but you’ll also be learning a really cool new skill. I think that’s awesome! So, yes – keep playing your other brain games and have fun, but if you want something a little more challenging, try learning a new language and see if your memory and concentration improve.
